July 8 Wow, Wow, Wow, Fishing here in Quepos has been great. I came down this week in the hopes of landing my 2010 Marlin. Wells Folks wishes can come true. As we headed offshore on Thursday morning with Capt. Franklin at the helm, his plan after fishing the 26 two days before felt that the bite might be a bit further South. We headed to the Furuno to fish for live bait and bottom fish at an undisclosed point there. This is where the action started! All the lines started going first on was Randall with a beautiful Amberjack followed up with another Amberjack for Leanne, Sam followed with a Red Snapper, followed by a blue runner then 2 more Amberjacks, 2 Roosters another Snapper and Blue Runner, I gotta tell ya, there was so much going on, we had such fun and it was only 10 am we headed out a bit to 35 miles offshore when we had a estimated 700 lb Black Marlin on the bait, however he broke off. I say that my three favorite words are the captain yelling the magic words MARLIN! MARLIN! MARLIN! and just as Dempsey 1st mate handed me a sandwich around lunchtime those Magic words came bellowing down from above, This was it, I was in the chair as this magnificent Blue Marlin danced across the water. It was 28 minutes to get him close when he shot out of the water just 8 meters from the boat. Talk about a breathtaking moment as he boasted his Mad Marlin Face and incredible colors. Total of 30 minutes to the Leader for the release of the 300 lb. Blue Marlin. As I am still running on the adrenaline rush we followed this by the release of another 2 Sailfish. Really an incredible day
