3 Dorado (Mahi Mahi)
There are several reasons why people enjoy fishing for Dorado whilst in the Quepos and Manuel Antonio fishing waters. This fish puts up an incredible fight, with the bigger and tougher Dorado being found furthest offshore.

Honorable Mention: Wahoo
If you are visiting Quepos during the summer months, most notably May and June, you will be able to test yourself against the large Wahoo that can be found in the Quepos waters. December is the month when big schools move through the waters, yet if you want to catch the big Wahoo, it’s definitely throughout the summer. This species is known as the ‘prize game fish’ because of the high quality flesh and the sheer speed of Wahoo.
